Re Heat Idlies in microwave oven!

You have left over idlies??? dont want to make idli upma too? Then soak the idlies in water and put it in microwave idli plates.. then set the oven to high power (100%) and set the time to one minute or one and half minute. you will get idlies as soft as the freshly made idlies!!

Great idea.......but when we have over idlies then deep fry in oil. We enjoy this in morning breakfast with Tea. This is very unhealthy but I like it. I also like with dry roasted chutney.:)))

Hi Usha,
Lovely blog..u can also try idli upma. Also one can make idli in microwave by pouring batter into a small glass bowl filling it to 2/3rd ,u may place one or six bowls..around the circumference of the turntable, on high power for one minute and ur idli is ready..dont forget to grease the bowl..plus point..saves time..- points - has to be consumed immediately or gives a dried out texture..wont b as good as our lovely steamed idlis..i tried only once but shifted back to steaming ;) best rgds-PDM
